But he never cared about the critics, and rarely responded to them. He cared about making the American people happy. And he did. His music brought happiness to so many people.

Our family invited the neighbors to watch The Lawrence Welk Show from our TV. Everyone loved Mr. Welk making a popping sound from his mouth and let the the bubbles dance around him as he wished "Good Night' to all. We could not wait till the next show.
