I live in South Sacramento. I'm born in 1989. I noticed, even folks around my age don't speak the language well. Like I stated in previous comments, it's up to us to continue. We cannot use others as our scapegoat.
I commend you for knowing how to speak Mien on a fluent-level. I must admit, I have yet to meet someone my age that actually speaks the language well.

all the mien kids born after 1995 hardly know any mien at all...and the ones before 95ss dont even know our number/alphabets :(
but shit im from sac i know mien, me and my friends are from 92, and we all speak mien fluently...idk where u stay in sac but dam haha...its also the envoirnment we live in

The Mien language, like any language, adapts throughout time. It's inevitable that the Mien language will die out; especially when examining the Mien descendants. My brother states stupid sentences, like, "Nigga' naai gay daaic."
