You could use a audio codec to do the same right, probably way cheapter and less complicated than fpga. u have digital data from the processor , just need the analog conversion.

No. The CPU supplied the data in this delta serial format.

Jeri, great work!
Mostly joking: Don't suppose you know how a Toshiba T6721A works (As in Commodore Magic Voice)?

I haven't looked at it before. I've always dreamed of reverse engineering one of the speech chips.

Wow, that was a lot of work to replace a chip! Couldn't you have just put out the word that you were looking for one and wait to see if one of us drooling cretins would offer it up as a present to our electronic goddess?

It was more about doing it. I probably have a junk pinball board with one on it here.

I expect every High Speed pinball machine that's repaired like this to have a little sticker that changes the sign at 5:02 into "Drive 555 and stay alive". :-)

Hi Jeri I watched this! I'm just wondering how I could build some compression units for my almost hopeless music playing needs! I didn't understood all too well but the compression happened I heard it at last! I'm not even started the effect building we talked before! I seen some compression chips at Small Bear Web Shop few days ago and I wondered how I could use those but only few seconds! I'm trying to build a tube amp just now but it even hard to get all parts! Transformers I've already! Assa
