Where has bouq. been? bouq. has let time pass a little, the heat cool off after being voted 15th best label in Groove magazine 2009. Of course they have stayed active: with gigs at Harry Klein, Cocoonclub and Q-Club as well as many solo releases by Amir, Butch and Sebastian Lutz the family has been in full effect, only a little under the radar.
Now the first bouq.records release in 2010 is officialy ready for take off: The bouq.family and friends part two goes ahead where the first part finished it: emotional, grooving and driving songs!
Domy makes his first ever debut on a vinyl and we are incredibly proud of this song. Dance is the very simple title, which basically says it all. A monster of a bass, driving highs and an incredibly emotional vocal make you simply feel the need to dance. Our friend from Berlin, Santé, who has been making moves on labels such as Rekids and Souvenir immediately agreed to reinterpreting the song and didnt hesitate to make this a dance-floor destroying tech-house bomb.
The flip side is not only packed with beautiful dance music, but also a personal story. Ozinaga by Cadenza-star Felipe Venegas is named after and dedicated to Felipes friend Walter Ozinaga, who died active in the Bolivian guerrilla. Is there a nicer way to pay your tribute to your loved ones than making a song for them? bouq. at least cant think of a better way and we are honoured Felipe chose to pay his respects via bouq. Our thoughts go out to Walters family and friends.
Last but not least our globetrotter Butch managed to come home to the bouq.studio and as a result makes his appearance on the bouq.family and friends part 2 and this sure is one piece of funky dance music! We hope you enjoyed this musical ride and maintain with a bright bouq. future ahead. There is still a lot to come. You know bouq. is back. How do we know? Oh, its just a familiar feeling telling me so, thats all.
