Update: Comments are now disabled. I've grown tired of reading poorly spelled or unoriginal insults. I've also grown tired of reading comments from those who seem to have completely ignored the audio. I'll just say one last thing: Jack C. Hays was not a supporter of the South during the Civil War. He was a Union-supporting Texas Ranger. He was a more local kind of soldier, and flying this flag, along with the other school symbols, disgraces him.

Ello. I am Derek T Martinez.

By the way, there are a few gaps of silence in this video.

I graduate from Jack C Hays High in Spring 2008. I have gone to school at Jack C Hays High for four years and have absolutely hated the ignorance displayed by anyone with "school spirit."

Jack C. Hays High is located at Buda, Texas. Its mascot is the Confederate Rebel, its fight song is Dixie, and it used to have the Rebel flag as a symbol.

This video is my protest against ignorance. My basic goals are to ban Dixie, to change the rebel mascot to something that doesn't misrepresent Jack C. Hays, and to get rid of the Rebel flag from the campus once and for all.

I don't mind if you don't agree with me. I only ask that you listen to my argument.

Enjoy the video.
