@SuperBlackWoman1 Copy and pasting does not make you intelligent and arguing with BS statistics doesn’t either. I have stated facts and nothing but facts that can be verified through history, you on the other hand along with the others here blurt out meaningless statistics that do not support your hypothesis. I can tell your race comes first for you before anything else, which is easy to spot when you call others racist. But please do not let facts get in the way with your version of history.

@SuperBlackWoman1 You are still substituting your history for reality, if it weren’t for Conservative Republicans the Civil Rights bill would have never been passed. There were liberals in both parties; you keep going back to states rights, when Southern Democrats formed their own federal government and currency during the Civil War it wasn’t individual states fighting a war it was a Confederacy of States, just like the United States in the North. Don’t you have a OWS bowel movement to go to?

@itssoEC -You don't know anything about politics you need to learn the difference between ideology and party Democrats used to a Conservative Party
1.Reagan was a Conservative Democrat
2.Thurman was a Conservative Democrat
3.Jesse Helms was a Conservative Democrat
Most Conservatives switched over to Republican after the Southern Strategy and today's Democrat Party is a Northern Yankee Party who elected a Black President
TODAY'S SOUTHERN RACISTS ARE REPUBLICAN

@afrikasteele, Wow. I guess you are a Dem. Glad to see you found the correct party. You'll be right at home with all the other racists.

@SuperBlackWoman1, So let's look at the Dem leaders today. You think them not racist? Did you vote for Clinton? Did you vote for Carter? Did you vote for Biden? Even Obama is racist, but that's somehow acceptable because it's aimed at "whites."

@SuperBlackWoman1 States Rights issues don't determine Conservatism. Freedom and Liberty do. And that means for ALL people. Both parties may have had SOME overlap in what they believed in, but that has pretty much cleared up over the last few generations. With the evangelic movement that took over the south, it was easy for people like Reagan to show Dems who were Christian Conservatives that they had nothing left in the Democrat Party. Leaving only Progressives and Racists in the Dem Party
I have nothing but respect for honest capitalists like Herm Cain. I hate dope dealers, pimps and community organizer thugs though.

Abraham Lincoln was America's greatest president, because he knew that free market capitalism had to replace large, agricultural, slave holding interests. Lincoln was willing to crush 75% of the economy to turn America into a modern, free market society. That took huge balls. Republicans created the American century by putting America on the path to industrialization after 1860. George Washington and Alexander Hamilton's dream finally came true.

Clearly the Republican party has never changed. It has always been for free labor and capitalism and corporations. Republicans have always supported inventors and other miracle makers that do what they do to get rich. Democrats used to be basically pro-slavery and pro-KKK. Then in the '60s Democrats became communists. In other words, Democrats have jumped all over the place politically to the far right and far left, but Dems have always hated freedom. That never changes.

I read somewhere that slavery accounted for 75% of US exports in 1860, so it's no surprise that the Democrat party and at first even Lincoln had no plans to end slavery. Finally, Lincoln figured that slavery was holding back modern business and capitalism especially railroad and steel interests in the North, so he decided to emancipate the slaves and draft them into the US military.

Lincoln and the Republicans held much of the same views that Republicans hold today. They supported large corporate interests like US Steel and Cornelius Vanderbilt's Railroad. They opposed slavery as it undercut the free market. The Democrats were throwbacks to Jefferson's agrarian utopia of the 1700s that was already an illusion by the time Hamilton created the banking system as the 1st Secy of Treasury. Democrats were unrealistic dreamers.
