Quick video showing a faulty Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone. As you can see in the video, not only does the screen display two different contrasts, darker on the left and brighter on the right, it also shows green lines going across the screen on certain apps and widgets. Ive done an update and did a system restore to factory setting and it has not fixed the fault. It seems like its a hardware problem.

This video was filmed in a fully dark room with no glare from any other light sources.

  • @SpacedGiraffe The fault can be seen when viewing a dark background in a dark room. Any brightness will show up the fault, but its most visible on lowest brightness on a totally black background. You should see lines or dots on the screen which are bright and which are dark. It is a hardware problem so dont let them tell you otherwise. You should get 28 days exchange time with your contract provider. The fault wont go away, even with updates!

  • Dude i have this exact problem. i really dont know what to do,when i first noticed it it was a day after i got it on contract and i took it back to the phone shop and it decided to stop doing it... but they said they cant replace it unless they see it doing it

  • @youtub8168 I have exchange 3 galaxy S2 and all of them had the problem to a degree. My 4th also has the problem but its much smaller than what the others had. I think this effects 99% of all galaxy S2! It is a hardware fault, not software so the only way to fix it is to get a brand new phone or the screen replaced which could cost loads. Send emails to samsung and get them to recognise this fault and recall the faulty handsets!

  • I got the same problem, and it got worsen.. the darker contrast become totally grey and couldn't see any icons. Did you find out how it to fix it? I went to repair store, they told me faulty lcd & $200 for repair/replace the lcd
