UAW operatives have used their monopoly bargaining privileges to expand compulsory unionism across the automotive industry. Now UAW bosses are pushing for a massive bailout package.

But government should eliminate forced unionism, not subsidize it.

  • not really.

    people will always need cars.

there will always be some company to accomodate that need.

    its called capitalism.

my feeling is GM will reorganize without the Union's monkey on its back.

either way do not panic let it run its course without interference.

  • In texas and other southern states many of the home owners now fly the japanese flags in front of there homes. Stop the bleeding of USA Jobs. Buy Domestic American Made in stores and on line. Dont be like a Judas like many have become to there own country. USA country first!!!

  • unions have bankrupted america. if it wasnt for them manufacturing jobs wouldnt be outsourced.

  • The UAW is a collection of thugs too afraid to stand on their own two feet and proclaim, "I" am proud of my work, "I" am proud of my worth, and "I" will secure my own interests in this life as apposed to banding together like a bunch of babies and strong arming people with government force to get their way.

  • Unions have billions...why bail out billionaires???

  • My answer to the question : No the Unions should not be bailed out, they don't deserve a bail out anymore than the banks did.... I sure didn't have a hand in their back room deals... DID YOU???

  • I have worked under both flags Union & Non-Union. At one time in the past Unions were needed to break the grip under which the major

labor force was being held captive. The governments were the major ram with which most Unions were broken... Both factions have gone from one extreme to the other. Once again it is the political parties that need a good scrubbing. It is much safer all around to dispose of the snake, then to keep it for a pet....kind of like the fox in the chicken house.....

  • @utube917

If I was president, I'd ban the unions, hammer them with both RICO and the Patriot Act, execute all their members and supporters, and seize all their assets and property.

  • I can't understand how people are still claiming that unions are the way to go. It obviously doesn't work. Their high wages and outragous demands have bled the industry dry. Unions were great during the 20s but we have LABOR LAWS and OSHA now. We have minimum wage, hour regulations etc. I don't know what you're talking about when you make it seem like you'll be a slave if you're not union. It's narrow minded. I'm not going to buy an inferior product just because it's American.

  • that what i mean here a dummy that is happy to work for less money but this whats wrong bringing the standard down in this country if you dont want the money go work at wal mart they want people that coward down and wont fight for themselves how about all you non union puks go to china and work iam sure you wont have to worry about being so called harrassed about joining a union hell thell let you work fifteen hours a day iam not sure but they might not go for the ass kissing over there
