The second in a series exploring religious topics from a Jewish point of view.

The Talmud is a basis of Jewish Law. The Talmud consists of the Mishnah and Gemara. The Written Torah (Five Books of Moses) and the Oral Torah (Mishnah) were handed down through the successive generations from the time of Moses.

  • In some ways they are similar, yes. The Talmud contains both the Oral Law (given to Moses) as well as stories and commentaries.

  • OK, Do you believe that the Talmud is inspired the Word of God? Because in the Hadiths we don't.

    We believe its written by historian, not by God.
