is it illegal to put a straight through exhaust on a mini?

and if it is how old does it have to be to be legal..?

It is not illegal but u will find it harder to pass an emissions test for mot and you could get pulled over for it being to loud. i have had my mini for years and have never got pulled over(just dont rev past the pigs). hope this helps.

yeap ive got a 1986 yellow cooper look-a-like with a stage one kit , never had any problems with the police or emitions tests , the sounds spinetingleing
