[SF4] Ibuki - The Shoto Unblockable

EX Neckbreaker - MK Kasumi Gake - j.LK/MK

Ryu can escape inputting a Shoryuken just before he gets it (which is very difficult). If he does a Reversal Shoryuken he will either get stuffed or he'll whiff and Ibuki can punish. He cannot escape with a Tatsumaki because this is j.LK, not j.MK.

Work on: Akuma, C.Viper, El Fuerte, Evil Ryu, Fei Long, Guy, Hakan, Ken, M.Bison (Dictator), Oni, Ryu, Ibuki (with j.MK)

On certain characters such as M.Bison (Dictator), the Unblockable crosses-up by default. When you have a successful recording vs. Ryu, open the menu and choose Change Character. Your recording should still be there so long as you don't quit to the menu. You can do this to test to see what it looks like on other characters without trying to block.

@JonaaaDrums You have 1-frame to do this, and it's probably best to use Fierce Shoryuken and not EX.

There is a way to work around this, Ryu can basically force j.LK to cross up(haven't tested j.MK) then block it. I also have another bit of anti Ibuki unblockable tech but I'm not sure about the timing but it should give Ryu some free damage or leave him safe. If your curious about the first one i have a video on my channel but I'm not sure if that method is supposed to be common knowledge or something i happened to stumble upon.

@alterazn Blocking this way means you have "tap-block" within 1-frame. Not only is that very impractical to master, if Ibuki were to mess up the Unblockable timing by a single frame later, she'll hit a Ryu doing this anyway.

@ibukiPLAYERguide actually i used i slightly different method at least i think it is, i wake up crouching then immediately start stand blocking i can do it fairly frequently so i assume this would have a little more lenient maybe 2-3 frames since my timing is really bad =[

@alterazn That works for Akuma, but it makes no difference for Ryu. However, you CAN just do cr.MK to escape, but again, you can't be sure Ibuki will do the set-up right.

Doesn't work on Bison in 2012, just tested it after proper unblockable on E.Ryu

@dRphy Even if you time it wrong by one or two frames, it's still safe to Reversal Shoryuken.

Is it really okay to trust a setup with something as vague as "wait a frame or two before jumping"?? I suppose in this case there's nothing to lose.
