Tales of the Abyss: Anise Solo (UM/NI) [Final Boss - Van]

Okay... This fight.

The first strategy I had for this boss was to simply N-Gate after dodging every spell he threw at me. This was safe and all, but it took a while. Eventually I came up with this strategy, which is equally as safe, but it's faster. If you use normal attacks and link it to Brutal Torrent, Van wont break out of it. If you use any move before it, he'll break out as you're doing BT, and probably use a MA or an Arcane arte, which will most likely kill you. If the N-Gate I used didn't produce a full Darkness FOF, then I just used Shadow Punishment and just got out of there. The only thing to look out for is FOF changes. Since the casting time for those are a little shorter. Frigid Coffin has an immediate startup, but wont stagger you if you're running, just make sure you're not casting a spell or anything, because it will catch you, and it WILL kill you. Cluster Raid isn't bad because it has some time for you to get away. I'm glad my cast time is quick enough to pull this off.

This fight would've taken much less time if it wasn't for the fact that every time Van did a MA, the game froze. I'm not talking sometimes, I'm talking about ALL the time. Most of my attempts ended up in a freeze or some stupid death. Stayed up all night for this shit.

When I get to the last form, I always seem a bit paranoid. Sure I used the same strategy, and it worked like a charm, but now he can use Judgement, then I remembered Clip told me that it can be dodged the same was as a Symphonia Judgement. But I Guardian just in case.

This run was cool. I might redo the first like, 10 bosses, but I'm not sure. It wont take too long since I got saves before all of them...But anyway, I discovered a lot about Abyss and it was a cool and different way to play the game and I really enjoyed it (most of the time).
