Falls along the same lines as Michael Dorn: Worf.
In real life his voice is much "higher" in octave, but when he is Worf, he takes on the deep tones. It's character.
I know this because I have a average deep voice, but when I don the Klingon, my voice drops several levels. I even take on a swagger when I walk. I didn't realize it until someone pointed it out to me.
It's all something you do for the character.

Yes, your comment was a year ago.
But you're wrong here, not EVERYONE is a fan of Trek. "Being a Klingon" I know this well, I talk with man people who know NOTHING about Star Trek. Barbara Walters is a more "realism" based personality. Her years of news broadcasting is what she was best at, not watching Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror and the like.
It doesn't make her idiotic.
LONG LIVE THE KLINGON EMPIRE!

its interesting with her voice because on the star trek voyager run she had a very deep sensual voice and as Star Trek Voyager lays in the past she seem to get a higher voice than when she was on voyager. Not that I don't love Jeri Ryan and Star Trek Voyager and I am a HUGE Star Trek Voyager fan and love Jeri Ryan but I just think its interesting! :)
