@pikaparty It's the permanent unique voices that are carefully chosen to be synched to the words of the original product. In America, it pays less to work for dubbing anime than just being a voice in an American show, but it requires more skill to synch the mouth flaps. This causes the skilled voice actors to be hired for original English-speaking shows, leaving the rest to dub... if that appeals to them. Also, the voices may sound generic just in case the actors need to be replaced.
