I absolutely love this rendition of Monkey Man. It's got a pop to it. I heard this a couple years ago on some random internet radio station and bought the album off iTunes right afterwards. While I do enjoy and appreciate the slower, more traditional reggae versions, I'm ska to the core. Reel Big Fish's take on it is good too.

@mumu23k I think so... it's from "True Love", a collab album that they did a few years back, though I don't know if they were actually in the same studio/stage though.

I like to believe most of the "True Love" album was done so that Toots could upstage a bunch of mediocre pop stars, (apparently) without any of them realizing it.

@mumu23k I think it's hilarious, the first time I heard it I kept wondering "what's that weird squeaky feedback on the lead vocals?" Then I realized that was just Stefani, Toots voice is so much stronger that only the squeakiest parts of her vocals come through - it sounds like he's doing a duet with a chipmunk or Betty Boop.
