i know how 2 do that. the easy way is to lay a plasma granade on the base(not 100%on the pole)and let it explode. sometimes it wont work, depending on its damage.

it happens in halo 2 on xbox all the time. the best way to do it is to blow it up with rocket launchers. or stand on top of plasma turrets and destroy them with the sword. you should float. haha
