Think it's not happening in your house? Think again! One of the easiest things teens can get their hands on is prescription medication. Often all they have to do is look inside a bathroom medicine chest. Maybe it's not YOUR kids, but what about their friends? Relatives? Workers in your home? Introducing the MedSafe.

  • I guess kids could just find their pills from another source. Or even think their parents don't trust them--and could even backfire?? (hopefully not!).

  • Great points. A few things to consider- over 90% of the drugs abused are obtained from their own home or that of family and friends, and an ONDCP report states that parents can have an immediate impact on the problem by securing the drugs in their own home. Will locking up drugs solve the problem? Probably not, but every life saved is a victory! As for the trust issue, consider gun safes. Most agree that guns should be locked up even though there are 3x as many Rx deaths. Thx for commenting!
