This is a demonstration of the Mini-SkyBot Robot that I made. It was printed on a Thing-O-Matic 3D Printer (www.MakerBot.com) for the Technology Week of the Advancement Camp held in July, 2011 by the Boy Scouts of America, Laurel Highlands Council (Pittsburgh, PA)
It was designed by Dr. Juan Gonzalez and a team students at the Univesidad Carlos III de Madrid University in Spain. (www.ieaRobotics.com).
This is proof that one can design something on another continent -- IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE -- and using the translation facility found in Google Chrome, and a 3D Printer, another person 1/4 of the way around the world can replicate their work.
Also -- you can make anything that you set your mind to -- and that the world is really a small place.
Special thanks to Dr. Juan Gonzalez and his student Olalla Bravo for their open source designs and for answering my questions.
Where did you get the sky board? I have been trying to get a few but I can't find any buy.

@derekmellott -- I paid $110 for three as a prototype. If I order 20, I can get them for $10 each.
If you would be interested in going in on this, you can e-mail me: "cw -AT- kreimers - DOT - com" - let me know how many you would want; I would guess that within a month or so, more people might want to have fun building them so
The real PITA was getting the part numbers for the interconnects. I have a BOM for all of this, which would save you about 2 hours in the ordering process.
