Sarah Palin versus Julianne Moore

A scene for scene comparison of Sarah Palin's actual media appearances and Julianne Moore's reenactments of them from the movie Game Change.

This is for the purposes of revealing the similarities and differences between the reality and the performance.

I believe not only does this serve to credit Julianne Moore as an actress, but it also tells us a lot about what happens when real historical events are portrayed through dramatic arts.

By all means feel free to comment on where you think she did well or did not do well.
This is the sort of discussion I am most interested in sparking.

Steve Schmidt and Nicole Wallace were there, and they both commented how accurate this film was. Palin is a moron, and even though we all already knew that, this film made it even more clear just how stupid she really is.

Poor Julianne Moore, she could never quite capture the pure dumb blank stare of Sarah Palins, You know that look in a persons eyes that tells the rest of us that no ones home in the brain department, Sarah always owned that look. I'm guessing in the end, producers finally couldn't make that deal with Mrs Potato Head and had to settle for Julianne.

I think Tina Fey is doing a better parody, but I'm not sure if she would be able to carry the character all the way through a feature film.

This biased film does not judge fairly in the same way that a poor historian can never be objective. You have chosen the most banal clips, thinking because they are copies of real life that they show great accuracy? But even in your silly clips there is great historical inaccuracy. What about reactions of family members or people in a room that could not, we're not witnessed by the filmmakers? Do you not see that it is in these moments they feed the audience their own propagandistic view?

All your video compilation demonstrates is just much you and those who made this film don't get it, and how poor your understanding of what good and accurate history is. You might as well say a parrot is just as good as a human because it sounds just like the person it is imitating. Don't you get it? That's the easy and false part of portrayal. It's easy, given enough time, to mimic. What is difficult is to understand and judge fairly.

Yeah, GAME CHANGE showed that Palin was a caring, loving mother, but even so she wasn't cut out for vice president. She was incompetent, unstable, and unqualified for the job.

I don't think so. In fact, I think she reined it in. Palin's voice/accent is harsher and would've been torture to listen to for almost 2 hours.

I noticed it the first time live, and again now - at 1:00 McCain was totally, totally staring at Palin's ass the whole time she was speaking. Look at his eyes - scoping out that trailer trash booty!
