Margot Kidder's monologue here was originally to be set to music but the director, Richard Donner, didn't want to include a musical piece in the film so he had Kidder just read it. Later, after the movie was released, Maureen McGovern released the song as a single that was originally intended to be included in the film "Can You Read My Mind?" I remember it too.
