In 1961 Marvin Gaye has his first single release, Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide released as Tamla 54041 in 1961, he was a member of Harvey & The Moonglows from 1959 to 1960, even singing lead on "Momma Looci" in 1959
he reminds me of Aaron Neville which is surprising since i expected more "sam cooke" at this stage...was Aaron well known then? there were so many greats at the time, its useless for us to speculate who was really influential...ive heard unknows who sound like Otis and Al Green 10 years prior... thanks for posting these records

You sound like a child predator. Have you ever watched dateline NBC? Or actually, have you ever been on it? Whats Chris Hansen like in real life?

I have both songs together in a CD box set that released in 1989.

I've got this song on CD. I found the original album once, but I didn't buy it.

I had heard about this song a lot. Wow he sounds really young and a bit unsure of himself but it sounds exactly the way I thought it would.
Thanks for this!
