Missing Lives: Disappearances & Impunity in North Caucasus

"Counter-terrorism operations" conducted by Russian military and security forces in Chechnya since 1999 have resulted in the enforced disappearances of over 3,000 people who remain missing. Due to the lack of adequate investigation and prosecution, the problem has spread to the neighboring republics in the North Caucasus.

MISSING LIVES addresses the culture of impunity surrounding these abductions and the damage done in the lives of people whose loved have vanished. The video provides insight into the struggle of relatives trying to break through the system of lawlessness to seek information and redress for the crimes of enforced disappearances, torture, and extra-judicial killings.

i'm just wondering ! were the hell is the justice, the human rights that everybody r talking about these days! why everybody is trying to hide the facts, no one giving the caucasians a hand, we r people, we r nation, we need to have our countries free, how does it feel to put your country russia while u don't even feel russian ! then u have to go and explain to the others that i'm not a russian, we r Caucasians, the russian toke our lands, while everybody is watching...

Why doesn't this Memorial group gop into Islamic countries and show how non-muslims are treated. Go into Saudi Arabia and see what they do to people who reject Islam or teach Christ. How are Christians and Copts treated in Egypty today. And so on.
