Using global information via Pachube (www.pachube.com) we have developed an application that monitors weather-data from Kennedy Space Center (Houston), Edwards Air Force Base (Bakersfield)
and the International Space Station (Space Weather). The system is built like a small network where
it requires all inputs to function (or be within the specified range of values). If all sensors are green
(in contrast to orange) it means that the conditions for a shuttle-launch are optimal (Ready for
launch) When only one of the many inputs fails, the entire network stands down (No launch).
Launch Control v.1.0 could be used as a simple interface for NASA's ground-control to make sure
that the primary and secondary launch sites have the required weather for launch and emergency landing. We have also included a sensor from space where the solar winds are monitored (km/h).
