Hello the bassline isnt taken from Shout as you wrote. Quote-ing Evil Eddie richards: I had this reel-to-reel and what I did was get a little loop from the track and found a similar bassline on my Roland 303. Then I recorded the 303 on to this tape machine but because I didn’t have a way of synchronising the 303 with any music I put on there I had to keep stopping and starting the tape machine. That’s why it goes “acid man” and then stops!

yes I'm sure you're right. The scene in 'Up In Smoke' where they meet and Cheech is driving, they get on a session and Chong says "woooaah, you just took the most acid man"
