Allusions

* Ultimecia's ultimate weapons are named after some of Rinoa's weapons from Final Fantasy VIII.
* In Shade Impulse 3-2, before and after the battle, Ultimecia says lines to Squall that reference the conversations from just before the last battle of Final Fantasy VIII. The lines after the battle are a reference to her unfinished speech displayed during the same battle.
* When Ultimecia loses a battle she says the words: Icantdisappear yet. These are the final words she spoke before she transferred her powers to Edea in the worlds past after her final defeat at the end of Final Fantasy VIII.
* As Ultimecia fades away in both Destiny Odyssey VIII and Shade Impulse she is surrounded by purple smoke. This is similar to how she faded away at the end of Final Fantasy VIII.
* During her EX Burst, the stance she takes while the explosion happens is similar to the explosion at the start of the final battle in Final Fantasy VIII. Additionally, every time she wins a battle she takes the same pose she made right before she summoned Griever from Squall's mind in the original game.
* Your existence is denied is a quote Ultimecia may say at the start of a battle. This is a line spoken by her at the start of the battle against her final form.
* When Ultimecia enters battle, she does so the same way she does at the final battle in Final Fantasy VIII.
* After Ultimecia talks to Squall while in the form of Cosmos, as he walks away you can see Ultimecia in the shape of Cosmos, this is similar to the scene in Final Fantasy VIII after Edea is defeated the second time, she appears in the shape of Rinoa.
* When Ultimecia wins she could say, This is reality. No one can help you. Wouldnt you agree?. This references the speech she gave while she was inside Edea at Deling City, This is reality. No one can help you. Sit back and enjoy the show.
* At the beginning of a battle Ultimecia could say,How dare you hinder a sorceress!. this references the line in Final Fantasy VIII when Time Compression is disturbed by Squall and companys confrontation, inciting this hate-filled line to be said.
* Ultimecia's HP attacks are all attacks used by one of her forms in the sequence of the four final battles in Final Fantasy VIII - Shockwave Pulsar is the attack of Griever, Great Attractor is used by her junctioned form with Griever, and Apocalypse is a spell drawn from her in the last battle.
* When using Great Attractor, the "planet" Ultimecia generates is the world map from Final Fantasy VIII.

Trivia

* Ultimecia is the only villain who executes her EX Burst while not in EX Mode. She does this while fighting Squall in Destiny Odyssey VIII.
* Ultimecia is the only villain to be struck down in Shade Impulse.
* If Ultimecia fights the Cloud of Darkness, she could say "Do you think you are my rival?" this may reference that Ultimecia and Cloud of Darkness are the only female main villains in the first ten games. It should be noted Cloud of Darkness is considered a genderless being, only taking on the form of a woman.
