This video demonstrates the technique I use for crimping copper ring terminals onto heavy gauge battery cable. There are some really nice (but expensive) crimpers out there for doing this; my technique is the "poor man's" method that actually works quite well. The crimper I use is a Hobart 770122, available from Amazon for under $20. It works well for a variety of sizes; I have used it anywhere from 8ga up to 2/0 cable. When you get up to 1/0 and larger it is a little on the small side, but it still works.
