Good lord... Does Rep. King really think we're this stupid? That we're not going to fact check such a bold and idiotic claim?

I used to wonder if clowns like this guy, Bachmann, Beck, and the rest, actually believed the insane-o tripe they were spewing.

Finally decided, yep, they probably do.

Poor things.

Was that a little Freudian slip at the end? "That's what it says, not necessarily what it means; this IS government, you know."

He's admitting he knows his little spectacle there is totally full of shit. The bill may SAY the words "encourage the promotion of suicide or assisted suicide" but that's not what it MEANS.

Government bills are like dense computer code--they're not meant to be read for pleasure and the context of an entry can be 10 pages away.

And this little fucker knows it.

Nothing in this section shall— (3) encourage the promotion of suicide or assisted suicide.

This is quite the parlor trick. The first phrase "Nothing in this section shall—" at the bottom of p.643 (along with parts 1 and 2) and part 3 "(3) encourage the promotion of suicide or assisted suicide." is at the top of p. 644.

A bunch of clown theatrics dragging a bunch of paper around and spewing outright lies to all within earshot as he lumbers about the street.

What is this horrid creature and how do we stop it?

Steve King is a LIAR. A SHAMELESS , DISGUSTING LIAR. And then he lies AGAIN when clearly asked about the intent of the language!

Here is the text from the House

Page 643, Line 14:
(b) CONSTRUCTION-The voluntary advance care planning consultation
described in section 1861(hhh) of the Social Security Act, as added by
subsection (a), shall be completely optional. NOTHING IN THIS SECTION
SHALL--

Page 644, Line 1:
(3) encourage the promotion of suicide or assisted suicide.

what is says actually is: "Nothing in this section shall --" and then lists the things that will NOT be done, such as encourage suicide.

does he think we are completely stupid?
