@Rotard12a More or less, yeah. For a personal experience, when I was a kid I learned what "placate", "squeamish", and "hypocrite" meant when they cropped up during a conversation in 'Dragonheart' and I asked about them.

All very much like when I was 6 when Toy Story came out and was confused as to why Woody called Buzz Lightyear "Buzz Light Beer"!
But in seriousness, I agree with what you're saying. Some of the other humor, however, really is just there to keep adults as amused as the children. For instance, when Linguine says "I have this tiny, little... little..." and Collette glances down, presumably at his crotch. Or in Toy Story 2 when Jessie gets Buzz excited and his wings pop open :)
