Is all about money.

@liof16 and got a ticket for doing 10 kph over he limit. When confronted with this the smart arse Traffic Camera Office blamed it on a tail wind . LOL Shonky idiots .

@liof16 Sometimes the camera will flash during setup , I saw one flashing every time a car passed when I was walking the dog once, asked the guy sitting in the car why it was flashing cars that were obviously slowing down seeing the camera flashing away . He said he'd just set up and the was setting up the system ? Who knows, they did tests locally on fixed cameras governed a truck so it was impossible for it to go above 60 kph he drove backwards and forwards through the camera all day.

@Quontomleeeep Yeah that's what I mean, I can understand their purpose to a degree... it just so happens the reason I've been watching these videos is because I thought I set off a Gatso the other week at around 34MPH (funnily enough, placed at the bottom of a slope) - don't think I did set it off though as it was on the other side of the road and the lense was facing the front of my car, not the rear... at least I hope that means nothing will come of it.

@Heennrriiicckk Either. Its all good.

@theholyfather1 Which hole the one he speaks out off or his mouth ? LOL ....
@denny174 There are enough speedsters in Ireland for this to make money. One speed trap caught 150 vehicles speeding out of 171. In was in the paper today that the fines will mount to €70 million anually.
Everytime you're caught speeding it's €80 fine and two points.
Insurance companies are set to cash in too as they're planning on raising insurance premiums by €100 for each point you have on your licence (but if you're under 25 it'll be €150 for each point you have on your licence).

Never mind the fines... you're also getting two penalty points every time you get caught. Insurance companies raise your premium if you have points on your licence. If you get 12 points on your licence the Gardai take away your licence and you're banned from driving for six months. To get 12 points on your licence you have to get caught speeding just six times.
