"It Was A Big Lie All Along" / by Kazuyoshi Saito (斉藤和義) / 歌えなくもない英詞付き

This is a self-parody of a hit song in 2010 "I Loved You All Along" (Zutto Suki Datta) by a singer-songwriter Kazuyoshi Saito. The original Japanese title of this self-parody is "Zutto Uso Datta".

There are already many versions of the English translation of his lyrics, But I wanted to make the English lyrics rhyme as much as possible (though only partially successful) so you can sing along if you like (and if you try really hard).

For that reason, my English translation is not an exact word-by-word translation. But I believe the essence of what he sings remains the same in the English translation (though I know my translation hardly does justice to the original Japanese).

When this parody song was initially uploaded on YouTube, his record company tried to delete it whenever they found it. But new copies appeared one after another and the company finally seems to have given up their effort. At least I hope so.

(BTW in the hook of the song, he sings either "Zutto uso dattandaze" or "Zutto kuso dattandaze." "Uso" in Japanese means "a lie" and "Kuso" means "a shit." The two perfectly rhyme in Japanese.)
