I don't see how engine oil would get past the piston at all ? I don't know about this but MAYBE it is time for a new piston and rings ..That is usually the cause of oil getting past the piston , But getting oil through the carb and to the filter is very weird...

hey what is the top speed of your xr 650 ? im thinking of buying one in the summer :) looks like a good bike. i heard they have low maintance is that true ? honda does make good stuff
