From the year 2000's Elvenefris

Line-up:
Ptoe - guitars and vocals
Ondra Martinek - guitars
Andy Maresh - bass
Tom Corn - drums

Lyrics:

Jealousy is degrading us from divine freedom to futile slavery.

Be free and let 'em be free.
Spiritual teachers we become when giving freedom
and possibility of choice.
Show 'em freedom and you'll be followed,
it's the only way leading from the painsphere.

[Chorus:] Then we will be a step closer to home

Improvement of ourselves is an escape from inner impurity and its torments.
So because we judge others according to ourselves
when there is no impurity within us
we won't be afraid of the impurity of others...

...and fear is gone,
only beautiful harmony remains...

[Chorus:] Then we will be a step closer to home

  • Pero que gran banda!!

  • The fact that Anata is in the suggestions completely solidified my faith in this album. Not that the music itself wasn't more than enough...

  • @MutantClannfear hehe ok, let's stop to discuss what is what and keep on listening.

  • @TheDrones77 Origin aren't really breaking boundaries, though. It's pretty much a mix between Brodequin and Cryptopsy, jacked up on 'roids.

  • @MutantClannfear well, for me bands that are mixing different genres and walking over musical borders like the ones mentioned are quite experimental. or call it progressive, technical, ambient or whatever. what counts is that it's sick.

    but thanks for the tip.

  • @TheDrones77 Tool, Cephalic Carnage, and Origin aren't experimental.

Also, for bands like Lykathea Aflame, Gorguts and Demilich.

  • WOAR! read on the back of the obscene extreme leaflet, heard here, bought cd!

if you like this band and have never heard of CEPHALIC CARNAGE, you need to check them out! seems like meshuggah, cephalic carnage, tool, origin, sunn o))), japanische kampfhörspiele and lykathea aflame are the best when it comes to experimental metal in my opinion!

do you know any further bands like this? tell me!

  • @robinzhooded I just don't like the overwhelming use of time signatures on Unquestionable. It seems overdone to me. This, on the other hand, is just really well-put together and fluid. I'd say it's one of my favorite albums of all time actually.
