(Captured from TV so sorry it's not the best quality and sorry for the background noise, that was my parakeet, lol.)

I got up early just to watch this because for the first time ever, a Smurf balloon and float were part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade this year. How cool is that? It was to celebrate the Smurfs 50th anniversary. They even mentioned the upcoming Smurf movie so it's a fact. As some of you know I'm a Smurfs and 80s fan. Smurfy Thanksgiving everyone.

With Special Thanks to Macy's and NBC!

  • Hey girl! Only the Smurfs can get me up! lol. Hope you're well and Happy Thanksgiving. TY much for commenting.

  • Thank you for posting this. It was the best part of the parade along with Rick Rolled. So nice to see the Smurfs in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. I hope they have them for the future ones.

  • You mean there were other things after the Smurfs? Ha, I think I got so excited about the Smurfs that that's all I saw, lol. (Well, also because it was like the first balloon out.) Now, I must look up that Rick Rolled one. Thanks for commenting and hope you're enjoying your Thanksgiving.

  • And the first time the smurfs were shown on NBC since the show was cancelled in 1990.

  • It's always nice to see more classic characters in the parade. Remember a few years back, when it was all flash-in-the-pan PBS preschool characters?

The Smurfs are kind of an odd one, though. In the US, they're seen as a relic of the '80s. However, in Europe, they've been around practically forever.

  • as I would have liked to be there
