    I agree. Great talent mis-cast. Gordy Berry, president of Motown advised Diana against this role but she was determined. Michael, though, felt an emotional healing from his role as the scarecrow..he was also breaking away from Joe's oppressive control (during this time). .

    Being African-American, I remember seeing this film on TV when I was little and found it frustrating and silly and dull. Good talent wasted in a crap sandwich.
