Look Away was written by Diane Warren (remember "Love Will Lead You Back"? or "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" from the movie Armageddon?). This mega hit ballad appeared on Chicago 19 album and reached No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100 in 1988. Footage recorded in Seattle, Washington (1990). Enjoy!!

For me, it's heartaches...and just being someone who despises 2000's "wannabe-superstars"

  • @SuicideOnMyMind For me, it's Pavlovian. It's "physioneurological." It's memories and sweet sweet sorrow...twinge of nostalgia. Steve Perry/Journey also has the same effect on me.

  • What a voice and what a song...like it was written for him to sing. It would be great if Bill and Chicago would reconcile and tour together again but i suppose that's very unlikely. Thanks for all you've given us Bill!

  • Love this song, but there's one thing that always confused me about this era. I saw an interview where they said that adamantly resisted record company pressure to ditch the horn section. They said it would be like Elton John without his piano. I completely agree, but there were a number of songs like this that were devoid of any horns. They're all still great songs, but it was like they traded in their horns for a bunch of extra keyboard players.

  • whatta beautiful song,

  • Let's stop arguing. Kath is irreplaceable. But so was Cetera. Jason Scheff is a clone. Cetera was the voice of Chicago. But, damnit, Bill Champlin is extremely talented. His solo work was brilliant. Imagine all three together. Woulda been magic!

  • @prex0406 I wish they would too. Seriously, it's been like what 21 years? Peter Cetera has had no career since 1990, and Champlin's best stuff was with Chicago. They should reunite, and keep Jason Scheff in the group as well, he had many hits and has actually been with them longer than Cetera was. They could do a tour and play all Chicago tunes old and newer. I'd pay to see it in a New York minute.

  • Bill Champlin is superb with that song...i just hope bill will return with the band together with peter cetera...and the other band members that left the group and have a some sort of REUNION concert...it will surely be a big hit

  • @tdolka Not a sports fan.. No need to cop an attitude. You stated what you like. I'm just stating what i like. And yes i did give up on the band after Kath shot himself. No need to get sore.

  • @kevykev38 Well, a true fan wants the music kept alive and flourishing. You don't drop it all cuz somebody couldn't handle a weapon properly and shot himself. I only wish Terry had as much respect for a firearm as he did for a guitar.

The Packers did not cease to be The Packers because Farve left. I'm done with this thread.
