Phobia Monologue

I am with a group called Comedy Inc. at Northwest Missouri State University. One of our recent projects was to write a monologue about a phobia and this is what I came up with. Everything in this video is a true story, as disgusting as that is.

An adolescent American cockroach craweled into my sister's ear during the early 1990's. Its carcass remained there until the mid 1990's. She would hear a crunching sound whenever she ate. The first 3 doctors she saw said there was nothing down her ear. The last one found it and pulled its body and legs out with a long cotton bud.

I have a phobia of cockraoches.

Do you only fear the thought of them crawling into your ear, or does the sight of certain insects make you feel scared for absurd reasons? My phobia of cockroaches is absurd, as the sight of one makes stuns me and makes me feel an uncontrollable fear. I don't know why I'm afraid of them.

I'd say it has something to do with the COCKROACH IN YOUR SISTERS EAR!!!! If I see bugs I usually just get grossed out depending on what kind it is. I don't mind SEEING them, I just don't want them to get on me without me knowing it.

The sight of a cockroach scares me. Even a photo of a cockroach will send shivers down my spine. The only times I get freaked out over other bugs is when their leg structure reminds me of a cockroach.

I don't mind creatures like crickets, flies, bees, etc.

I love spiders as they eat cockroaches.
