Leeszla....I use the culinary setting under scene for the best close ups of flora and food....and it is fantastic for little creatures like dragonflies, etc...with the super macro....incredible!! I use the scene/landscape (mountains) for anything outside that is farther away!
I've had no probs with clarity, but the white balance is not perfect...sometimes when the sky is very blue...it will look white when I'm focusing on closer things....don't like that!!

Since you sound pretty smart....I have no problem downloading photos to my 'puter, but today I took a video of my kitties and only the still pictures went to my computer. Now...with an older Olympus...the FE370, I think?? there was no prob downloading video from that...
Any ideas....I'm not a technical wiz...

thanks for the video... i was wondering if you could help me, i have the same camera and having trouble uploading pictures to computer. i went from a panasonic lumix to this olympus sp800uz, havent fell in love with it yet. the other camera all i had to do was plug it into my computer and i saw every picture upload. maybe i dont have a setting right or something. its just stressful everytime i want to load some pictures.

@tiamckelle1 If your just using the included usb cable, then the transfer rate will be super slow. I just use an SD card since it's so much faster to transfer photos since its a lot faster than the usb cable. If your already using an SD card then i'm not sure why it's doing that...
