Your so damned lucky you can see that LIVE ! Why can't we get this here in New Zealand
Too small a country I suppose...still Brilliant music and MANY thanks for posting this clip...

I got to see them years ago at the long lost Bottom Line in NYC. Sat right up against the stage just a few feet from Trey and was blown away by what I heard that night. Really stunning.

@drhowarddrfinedrhowa I also hear a lot of "Waiting Man".

Somebody call Mr.Fripp!

Very tight work, Trey clearly taking after Tony Levin's work on the Chapman Stick (the Warr Guitar & the Chapman Stick are similar....). I'd like to see Trey do more of this clean austere style.
-
I gotta say, Trey Gunn becomes his usual impressive when he gets to 3:20.

e muito bom

@aliendogbrain I agree it is indeed pretty damn good as well as derivative.....but i would argue that Fripp has not exactly "dropped the ball" AFAIK... :-)

As a jazz musician, I think rock fans have something to learn from jazz. Jazz artists borrow and trade licks all the time, that doesn't mean they're bad or unoriginal, they're just using ideas of others to build upon their own, just like in this song.
Discipline is NOT an end in itself... remember... it is a MEANS to an end. Trey has picked up the ball and is moving it forward from where Fripp last dropped it, lol... this is unbelievably good, whether or not he borrowed a theme from KC.

Wrong song. It's not close to KC's "Sheltering Sky", but it certainly borrows from "Discipline".
