China is waging a legal battle against Christies over the upcoming auction of artwork owned by the late fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. Two bronze heads up for sale were looted from Beijing's Old Summer Palace in the 19th century... and many patriotic Chinese want them back.

  • Its a big mistake to be screwing china now, they are growing very fast and a lot of countries own them debt just look in the case when the Japanese arrested an Chinese captain at sea, China demand him return home and they got him home how? They stop trade going into Japan which Japan needs, we will see what happens if China stops trading with the French.

  • @USAownsUrAss

Your girlfriend is a fool for dating a moron like you.

  • i'm impressed by your response. Your humility was not what i was expecting. I apologise for getting personal in my reply.. sometimes it's too easy given the anonimity of the internet. well handled.

  • I concede your point. My assertions were based on generality and not well substantiated. I appreciate your clarification. Thanks-

  • you have no idea... do some research before you spout. The french were never neutral. WWI was fought largely on french soil - they lost about 1.5 million soldiers fighting the germans you fool. And actually declared war on germany in WWII. Vichy (not vinci) france represented fascist elements (that exist in everycountry). They swept to power after the nazis conquered france - the recriminations at the end of the war were severe. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. wake up idiot

  • i totally agreed with you. They were barbaric & stole other countries wealth....sadly until today

  • Also, as with the Chinese relics, a good portion of Meso-American artifacts have remained in Europe and have not been returned to their countries of origin. I hope the just thing happens and the Chinese government is able to get these relics returned, which are rightfully theirs in the first place.

  • I truly feel for the Chinese in this particular case, and find the selling of their relics by foreigners to be absolutely reprehensible. My background is Mexican; however, similar to the Chinese, many Meso-American artifacts have been taken to Europe from the time of the Spanish Conquest of many territories in the Western Hemisphere. Like the Chinese, many Meso-American and other artifacts from elsewhere in the world can be found scattered throughout various countries in Europe.

  • The French along with the English & to a lesser extent The Germans, have taken several relics from noteworthy civilizations around the world and have presented them in

"their" museums and collection houses. To be kept or disposed of according "their" whims and fancies. The audacity of these French "fashion" moguls in proposing to sell these Chinese relics is the epitome of grand larceny and contraband trafficking.

  • A case in point is Vinci France diplomatically surrendering and secretly siding with Nazi Germany during World War II. The French as have the English, are historically known for their pomp and arrogance in their approach toward the rest of the world. Thinking themselves to be more cultured and sophisticated than their international counterparts. The fact that these shameless scoundrels are attempting to capitalize on these items speaks volumes about the reality of "French Chivalry."
