  • I grew up 52nd ParkSide Avenue Philly Classic

  • One of my favorites. I remember my mom asking me what was this song all about. LOL!

  • I grew up in the 15th. St. and Avon Ave section of Newark. Spent early years hanging around either Avon Ave or Springfield Ave and 15th or 21st Sts. as I can recall. This was in the early 50's. Thanks for asking.

  • @vodkamarie...

This song, 50's, Newark - same here; where 'bouts did ya live back then ?

I was on S 18th St, 'round the corner from West Side Park. Springfield Av wz 'bout 6 or 8 blks one direction & S Orange Av the other.

  • This was NOT produced by Phil Spector, it was produced by Luther Dixon. Written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin. It was on the Scepter label owned by Florence Greenburg who's daughter went to Passaic high school with The Shirelles.

  • this was produced by Phil Spector

  • Was this produced by Phil Spector?

  • This song brings back some great memories from the place where I grew up in the 50's. Newark, NJ.
