Songs like this exist to help aid children as they're learning their multiplication tables. Sometimes a child can remember a song/rhythm better than just a whole bunch of numbers floating around in their head. When a child struggles in school and you can't find a way to make them understand they can quickly fall behind. If this helps then lets not judge whats called for or not. I would never put a video of myself on here doing this so amen to him for caring about the bigger picture.

Mixing recorder and multiplication lets me use the songs in my elementary music classes. Supporting what kids are learning in their classrooms is an appropriate use of educational songs. If you listen carefully, you'll hear the recorder play patterns of six, also, subtly reinforcing the concept of multiplication.
