  • All it does is absorb atmospheric moisture. So the result would be no different than if you lightly dampened whatever footing you are using. However, if you use it outdoors, rain will wash it down into the footing and it would require frequent re-application, depending on how often it rained.

  • manebioglu, no, we applied Mag flakes. I suppose applying liquid is possible, though it would be much more complicated and expensive than necessary. The flakes can easily be applied with a garden variety fertilizer spreader. If you have a large arena, a tow-behind spreader will make life easier. For smaller arenas, a simple push style will work. How long it lasts will depend on use. We applied ours 7 years ago and have only needed minor re-application since.

  • It will vary depending on your footing material, depth, etc.. We used 0.14 pounds per sq. ft. initially, or 2500 pounds (fifty 50# bags) for our 18,000 sq. ft. arena.
