VIRTUA FIGHTER 2 vs TEKKEN 2 - Now LIVE on VERSUS BATTLECAST: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9QctiWuumk

*AN ABSOLUTE MUST WATCH IN 720p. PREPARE TO SEE SOME EXPERT PLAY*

This is my 2nd recorded gameplay footage playing VIRTUA FIGHTER 2 powered by the Model 2 Emulator v1.0 in HD quality.

** VIRTUA FIGHTER 4 FINAL TUNED 1080p Advanced Gameplay with adjusted intro is now available: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_luuQnLmys **

Please enjoy the video. This was uploaded due to high request from the fans wanting me to play the game up to "Jacky" on the hardest game setting. You'll see advanced gameplay of Akira performing "hit & pause", counters, floaters and other moves. Enjoy,

BTW, please note that I love Tekken 2 and Virtua Fighter 2, but I have to agree with the veteran players that Virtua Fighter 2 is definitely the far superior game.

  • @MikeHammett360 You are most welcome!

The reason why you are not performing the Stun Palm of Doom consistently is because you are probably "thinking" about it too much, causing hesitation thus hiccup. The best advice is... Practise the motion "OFF" the game to burn the sequence into your mind. The idea is to perform the move without thinking. The move should be clear and done within 0.80-1.00 m-secs. Don't worry about speed as the 2nd move is BUFFERED in from the 1st, and the 3rd from the 2nd.

  • @TrojanX Thanks so much. Indeed I also found the d/f+k to be a really useful entry attack. I'll be sure to practice buffering, I tried before nailing the Stun Palm Combo but it seems god damn impossible. I'll try your practice method before. All your tips will be put to a use.

As for the video guide, it would be most welcome by me. I'll make sure to also watch the VERSUS BATTLECASR videos.

And once again, thank you so much for your patience!

  • @TrojanX 5. When performing a high-risk move (e.g "k") always keep pressing (P+G) to "throw-escape" in case your opponent avoid and attempts to throw you at close range. This is because you have nothing else to do so you might as well cut one paper, scissors and stone element by doing that until your character recovers from the high-risk move motion..

I hope this is ok? Pls watch VERSUS BATTLECAST ep 2 & 4 for more ideas: /watch?v=PkVRr0rA088

If requests are high, I will make a video guide.

  • @TrojanX ... Remember that ALL moves can be buffered, "input another attack while your current move is in motion". Buffering is ESSENTIAL to mastering Akira. To practising buffering, you should nail down the mechanics of the game by taking advantage of Akira's d/b+P+G move. While performing that move, try a Tensuzankou (b,f,f+P+K) during the motion for a sure hit. For even greater understanding, perform his double palm by HOLDING down (d), then roll the pad motion to (b, f+P) 2 secs afterwards..

  • @MikeHammett360 Ok here are the basics: 1. For both characters, d/f+k is one of the best entry attacks which will give you some head room to perform a follow-up. 2. If you are playing v.2.1, the CPU is not very responsive to a throw attack that can be performed immediately after running towards the CPU. 3. When using Pai, remember that she has a rising kick attack (after blocking low, let go of d-pad and immediately press "k") that has a high % of hitting opponents that does a big sweep. 4. ...

  • @TrojanX Thanks! I intend to master Akira, but he seems suited for the advanced players. I divide my playing between him and Pai.

  • @MikeHammett360 Yes, practise and understanding what is going on is essential. Knowing VF3 & 4 Evo will really help. The deeper understanding I attained from those games allowed me to really break into VF2's system.

Best advice I can give you for now is to find the best entry attacks for the character you chosen to use. Can you let me know what character you mainly use so I can help more?

BTW, check out episode 4 of Versus Battlecast to find out who taken the crown between Tekken 2 and VF2. :)

  • This video got me motivated into picking up my controller again and try to master the game. It's so much more difficult when compared to today's fighting games! Did you have to practice much to get to such level? I'm trying but it's a real challenge.

  • This brings back so many cool memories. I forgot what the Japanese called the PK(G) cancel. Senbon punch? Can this emulator emulate the smell of stale popcorn and pizza? That would bring me right back to 1995.

  • @CCharmanderK Actually, Model 2 its BETTER than the PS2 for when it comes to sheer crunching power. :)

You should check out that VF2 vs Tekken 2 video that Trojan made for a great comparison if you like this. I think I lost count with the amount of times I've seen it.
