Well, I want to focus on Red Guard- as an Indian "Guevara Brigades" in college days of 70s, I understand EXACTLY what Red Guards were trying to do- they were trying to unify the country and oppose ppl who tried to keep it divided on religion and ethno nationalism .
Yep we Guevara Brigad kicked a lot of ass, but only right wings trying to make a career by keeping the country divided. Chinese got it done, we- not quite in India.
