The tribute band Buddy Holly lives! performs this Chuck Berry song as Holly would have - this version comes from the December 1956 recording with Buddy, Jerry and Larry welborn on bass recorded at Norman Petty Studios in New Mexico.

  • Buddy played a Strat, what is that Gibson?

  • ES 175 - my spare guitar - Niki Sullivan played an ES 175 T - I use the strat 95% of the show and if I break a string or play an early rockabilly song I use it for fun.

  • absolutely - you know your stuff. I find that style can cause cramps when you're playing longer than 20 - 30 minutes. But I try to as much as possible.

  • You notice Buddy used downward stokes on his Strat?

  • hi there this is really good i enjoyed watching it.

could you tell me how to play the guitar break by tab if i gave you my email?

    sorry to bother you

    thanks.
