Kim Jung Mi

................................................................................­..Just finished listening to three albums by Kim Jung Mi. Usually described as Korean folk psych from the early seventies and compared to francoise hardy. There are a couple of clips of her on youtube but the albums are better. I dont think the live clips do her voice justice, the albums are much better.
Couple of her albums have had unofficial re-releases in Asia and you can get the cds with a bit of effort.

these songs' titles are "My Beautiful Land" and "Wind in the Trees" from Kim Jung Mi's best album 'Now (1973)'

all tracks composed by Shin Joong Hyun the korean legendary rock musician and except 2 tracks, he wrote all tracks by himself.

Most of the Korean music today seems to be hip hop. I hope it doesn't stay that way for too long.

that's interesting...i don't speak korean, but i still appreciate her voice...the three albums i have are excellent...maybe some music jorno can track her down, pay some respect....there's been an unofficial reisssue of her albums in the east.

really? info is a bit scarce across here...any idea what she did afterwards, or what she's doing now?...i'd upload another couple of tracks if i knew there wouldn't be an issue......
