This movie redefined Westerns, taking them from the drab, serious dramas of the 60s and 70s and bringing some much-needed levity and upbeat spirit of adventure that even the great John Wayne classics never had.
It may not be the best Western ever made, but it is certainly one of the most important, and most fun. It also may be the best. :)
I've always liked 'Silverado,' even though a few parts are a bit hokey. I've also wondered why Kasdan chose Scott Glenn for Emmett, as he's not a typical leading man-type. Since Kasdan likes using the same actors in his films, I would have expected him to pick someone like Tom Berrenger. I actually like Glenn in the role, it's just an odd choice.
me too, i miss these kind of westerns, the perfect combination of gunfights, witty comedy, and drama. it would be really cool if they made a remake of this movie with new actors, as long as they don't get anyone stupid! lol
