@Rocketboy1950 THANKS

@Trainbrain1949 I'll take the reptiles over human snakes every time.

I wouldn't want to run into poisonous snakes. Lucky the the only poisonous snakes around here are seldom seen. In Chicago it's the people you have to worry about.

Quite unusual to see an emtpy PN train coming back from the west at this time of year. Those 2 box's wouldn't of payed for the coffee the drivers drank on the way home. Good location.

@zelo1954 No but I have had a few encounters in grasslands. Most snakes will flee from humans. The only problem snake out here is the Death Addder which is an ambush predator and they stay put when you approach. Sturdy shoes and denim jeans pretty well assure that their small fangs can't penetrate the skin........so I am told. I am almost 62 and I have bushwalked all over and only ever had one snake rise up to strike at me and that was a Tiger snake in grass. I got more venom from my first wife.

@wmralder They are running on train authorities. There are signals to indicate when the points/switch are set for the main but the points must be set at the call box for a diversion in to the passing track. They automatically run back to the main when the train gets in clear. It is the same procedure to come out.... manually call the points from the box and remote reset when clear of the loop again. The only signal to depart a loop is the point stand indicator and an authority of course. Thanks
I see a passenger car behind the locomotives on both trains. I think it works like a caboose that once was used a the end of freight trains. This car used to be the train conductor working site.

@lailasalas No, it is the crew car. It has sleeping cabins, kitchen etc for the relay crew that work the train in rotating shifts.
