History Lesson:

Cobain was the single most respected musician of his generation, hailed by fans, critics, and fellow musicians alike. With all this recognition, he attempted to dismantle his own fame by alienating the mainstream crowd with "In Utero", being blunt and honest in interviews, and trying to convince people his lyrics meant nothing (which was untrue since there are various drafts of lyrics in his journals). Didn't work, and he cracked under pressure, adding to his depression.

History Lesson:

In the mid-90s the metal/hard rock bands that had gone on the verge of death in the 90s came back and hit every other genre of music with a sledgehammer that to this day has yet to be seen. THIS is the turning point of the music industry. Hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of bands from back then vanished over night. You name it, it suffered. Bands like Nirvana, a metal-wannabe bunch of could-haves mashed together. Cobain cracked under the lack of fan-base, so he capped himself.

Cobain was the LAST motherfucker of his generation to have an ego, You wanna see egotistical pricks? Go look at Billy Corgan or Eddie Vedder, but don't even attempt to pick at the mind of someone who went through a pain that you clearly don't have and can't even imagine. Did it ever occur to you that the man turned to drugs to ease the pain that anti-depressants don't? And that when they didn't work anymore he became so APATHETIC that he made the decision to take his own fucking life? No.

@Nintendorks12345 What argument? the guy was an asshole. Plain and simple. Reguardless of whatever the hell was wrong with him, he had an ego bigger than Axl Rose, and THAT is an accomplishment.

Cobain was a plaything for the entertainment world, and he came to power at the worst possible time, and when we the people went to the thrones of the gods, we abandoned him like the plague. And instead off charging ahead in defiance like his betters did, he killed himslef.

He was pathetic.
