Cant see shit, due to nighttime, but this is another vid of my 300zx revving, this time to 5.5k rpm, and shot from the back of the car. And without any annoying interferences either :P

  • uhm yeah it does sound nice how ever.....remving the cat was not a very smart idea....there must be a lil back pressure other than that u just lost some if not all of your torque straight pipes r nice to a certain extant

  • No.

Backpressure is a myth, for torque you need high velocity exhaust gasses to create a scavenging effect, not backpressure in the exhaust. This is even more noticeable with tuned length exhaust manifolds. Putting a 4" exhaust on it would cause a lack of torque.

If i lost ALL my torque, the car wouldn't move...

Also, it came with no cat from the factory. Australian model, look into it. (also got "nismo" camshafts and twin electric fans)

  • hes just an idiot Z32 owner, 90% of them are stupid but think they know everything.

  • LOL!

    Too true.

  • wtf is that squishy noise at the beginning?

  • keys going into ignition.

  • gotcha. ill probably end up just cutting the muffler off of mine at first since it needs a new one and just put somethin on there (not from autozone lol)

but yea ive heard a z31 on straight piping and it does sound badass

  • no idea, other than its an oval muffler with a single out hole, which goes into twin 2" tips.

z31's with no mufflers or cats (but still have exhaust pipes) sound beastly too.

  • nice, yea that sounds really good. do you know what kind of muffler that is? im pickin up my z31 next week and im looking for an exhaust system for it

  • custom 2.5" press bent with 1 muffler and no cat

previous owner got it, i like her taste in mufflers.
